| Welcome to our Bowls club where we offer excellent
indoor and outdoor bowling facilities for ladies and gents - young and
old(er).
This is a well supported club which provides and enters many
indoor/outdoor leagues and competitions throughout the year.
Especially within the ladies' sections, we have had success nationally -
our current international (Edna Bessell) - being at the fore. Edna -
either singly, or with her team-mates Mo Monkton and Jenny Whitlock -
regularly win(s) County titles and often get(s) to the final stages
of National competitions. Our men
are, perhaps, not quite as successful but always enter their
competitions in good numbers and often get to Area finals. Whilst many
are competitive, we feel that a good 'club spirit' is most important and
welcome bowlers who just want to play the game at their own standard
whilst supporting others. Tuition, rather than coaching is provided for
newcomers to the game. There is also an enthusiastic social committee which organises various
events within - or away from - the club. The club itself is only a
few minutes walking distance from the centre of
